Abstrakt: Among the global megatrends and social phenomena of the 21st century, in the post-modern era, there is the growing strength of the crisis of values, international conflicts, the emigration crisis, deepening social atomisation and, with it, a growing crisis of trust in the interpersonal and structural (public) dimensions. No one needs to be convinced that these are factors that have a catalytic effect on increasing the level of uncertainty, risks and threats to human security encountered by people. A "healthy society", as postulated by Erich Fromm, characterised by a high level of security culture, is capable of generating, both on an individual and group (structural) level, a satisfactory potential of the security culture attributes of resilience, protection and defence in their broad non-military and military sense. The authors have chosen to present a slice of the results of their research on this issue, in securitorological and psycho-social terms. The importance of this issue is strongly increasing at the present time, all the more so as the necessary system approach dominating in security matters is becoming procedural and overly formalistic displacing the consideration of the most relevant endogenous factors of quality and effectiveness of human functioning in a security threat situation.

Abstrakt: The Slovak Republic has recently been significantly affected by the issue of secondary illegal migration, i.e. uncontrolled crossing of the state border without valid travel or other documents, or illegal stay of persons without valid documents. The paper discusses the reasons for migration, the current situation and its development on the territory of the Slovak Republic and the measures introduced in connection with it.

Abstrakt: Space is being increasingly militarized. Some nations have developed, tested, and deployed various satellites and some counterspace weapons. Space-based capabilities impact many day-to-day aspects of the Slovak way of life. These capabilities enable functions that affect our homes, transportation, electric power grids, banking systems, and our global communications. Satellites provide access to a broad range of information and enable many services in real time, from watching breaking news to monitoring our deployed armed forces day or night. Slovakia, as a country of over 5,4 million inhabitants located in the innovative Central part of Europe, sees its potential in the new space economy lying in finding and filling niches open to innovation, as well as building on the historical heritage of space technologies and competences initially developed in the second half of the 20th century. Slovakia should increase its efforts in sharing space data, products and services within NATO and EU to support its requirements and defense plans.

Abstrakt: Space diplomacy can be defined as the integration of knowledge, innovation and regulation between nations for better application and coexistence in space. Diplomacy is not only about international affairs. Although Space diplomacy is not new, the recent expansion of corporate countries with access to space increased the need for diplomacy that covered international relations and interactions beyond our atmosphere. Current international issues are now expanding into a multidisciplinary set of geopolitical and geoeconomic issues that must be based on fundamental scientific and technological analysis. Space diplomacy according to had, in addition to many issues, the involvement of multiple state and private actors, growing space infrastructure and satellite service providers, launch risk scenarios and space debris, and issues of deep space regulation. The aim of this paper is to delineate current role of space diplomacy from the perspective of security and defense policy.

Abstrakt: In addition to general military knowledge and university education, current officers of the armed forces of the Slovak Republic must also possess professional skills depending on the specific position. The education of officers and the acquisition of practical experience is a continuous and systematic activity throughout the duration of the civil service. For the quality performance of the service, it is necessary that every single officer is an expert in his field and thus be able to be a good leader and commander for his subordinates. Completion of career courses and especially professional courses, whether in domestic educational and training facilities, but also in facilities of NATO member states, the EU, international organizations and in other countries, will ensure fast, flexible and correct decisionmaking by commanders. This will ensure the solid building of the capability of the Slovak Armed Forces and effectively face all the security challenges of today.
