Abstrakt: The authors' article presents the reader with a brief overview of the history of troop feeding and its importance for the success of military operations. Selected results of the research and development project of a new canned food ration for members of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic are presented to the professional public. The aim of the article is to verify or deny some layman's approaches and assessments of their qualitative and quantitative parameters by comparing selected canned food rations. The research results present a spectrum of quantities relevant in the process of selecting potential suppliers.

Abstrakt: The Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic represent one of the decisive tools for ensuring the security of the Slovak Republic and defending its freedom, independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. In this context, they fulfil a number of important tasks resulting from Act no. 321/2002 Coll. on the armed forces, from international treaties to which the Slovak Republic is bound, and from other special regulations. Following this, the author deals with the political-strategic decision-making about the Slovak Armed Forces in the context of the starting points arising from the main strategic documents and legislation in the field of security, as well as from the policies of institutions such as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the European Union.

Abstrakt: In June 2023, the government of the Czech Republic approved the document Security Strategy of the Czech Republic. After 8 years, the Czech Republic has a document that fully reflects the changed security environment. The Security Strategy of the Czech Republic introduces fundamental values, approaches, tools and measures to safeguard the security, defence and protection of citizens and the state. The government adopted the new Security Strategy in response to the deteriorating international security situation. It also aims to boost the involvement and participation on all levels of public administration, civil society and private individuals in safeguarding individual and shared security. This document is followed by the Defence Strategy of the Czech Republic document, which elaborates the area of defence. The article describes basic information about the processing of these documents and their implementation in the Czech Republic.

Abstrakt: Changes in the international environment mean that security problems have become a permanent part of social debate. Stimulated by globalization processes, the international security environment brings with it significant changes in threats. Four trends can be identified: expanding the number of entities that pose security threats, expanding the scope of security threats, "de-territorialization" of phenomena generating threats, and the emergence of conflicts with new qualitative features. Therefore, we are dealing with accelerated evolution and expansion of institutions, as well as instruments intended to ensure security. Countries are changing their strategies and doctrines, creating new types of armed forces and special services whose task is to respond to changing and increasingly complex threats to their security. The aim of this publication is to provide a scientific analysis of the issues of state security policy in the new, changed international situation.

Abstrakt: Nowadays, international relations are characterized by the presence of many conflicts and contradictions between or within countries, which pose a threat to international peace and security. This leads to the emergence of a form of global international cooperation called "peacekeeping". One of the main tools for resolving conflicts is the use of armed force in the form of international peacekeeping missions. The UN plays a key role in this area, as well as other regional and international organizations such as NATO, the European Union, and the African Union. Primary responsibility for maintaining international security and peace rests with the UN Security Council. The Security Council has many responsibilities, including: deciding on ceasefires, sending troops and missions to armed conflict zones, and conducting peacekeeping operations through UN-sponsored military contingents.
