Abstrakt: The Vilnius Summit was of particular importance for NATO moving forward towards credible defence and enhanced deterrence. The Russian Federation’s actions in defiance of international law (2008 Georgia, 2014 annexation of Crimea, invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022) have radically changed the strategic and security environment. The Vilnius Summit in line with the Madrid Strategic Concept focused on the challenges, risks and threats on the eastern flank of the Alliance, the military reinforcement, strengthening and development of response capabilities have been a priority. Finland as a fully-fledged member country participated at the Vilnius Summit. This paper deals with developments in the framework of the partnership initiatives. The establishment of the NATO-Ukraine Council was one of the most important decisions taken at the summit. Furthermore, priority was given to the likeminded countries of the Asia-Pacific region, and attention has been paid to the Balkan region, the Middle East and Africa.

Abstrakt: About 2020 the main center of the world economy shifted to the so-called Indo-Pacific region. At the same time, also the main center of military rivalry and armaments race moved there. A Russian aggression against Ukraine can not camouflage this principal fact. In East Asia, two major world powers are confronted with one another: the USA and China, as well as Russia, India, North Korea, and several new middle-sized powers: Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, etc. Australia is also strengthening its defence capacities. In recent decades, they all have significantly developed their military capabilities and the building up of navies illustrates this development in the best way. New forms of military alliances are also beginning to take shape. First of all, the democratic countries of the Indo-Pacific region: Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia are trying to form an alliance with the USA and NATO and engage them in the Pacific Ocean. The AUKUS is also a promising regional alliance. The QUAD did not meet original expectations. In a case of an interlinking of centres of tensions in Europe and Pacific the new power rivalry will become global.

Abstrakt: The Russia-Ukraine war conflict has been triggered by several contributing factors and has gone on toward registering negative impacts across the Europe and world. On February 24, 2022, the Russia started a large-scale military aggression against Ukraine, moving from covert hybrid to overt war. Findings suggest that the main reasons for Russia’s war against Ukraine are: geopolitical, imperial, civilization, existential, personal and psychological. Possible scenarios of this war conflict include the long-lasting attrition war, defeat of Russia and restoration of the territory of Ukraine or miscalculation.

Abstrakt: Migration is not a new, modern phenomenon of the present time. On the contrary, the phenomenon of the present time is its demonization, the spread of false and distorted information, mainly in the environment of alternative media and electronic social networks. The aim of the work is to present true, balanced and, as far as possible, comprehensive information about the facts, causes, trends, benefits and security risks associated with the topic of the European Union and migration in a clear and concise manner. It focuses on migration to the European Union from third countries, the factors that cause and accelerate it, and the tools and policies that the Union applies to manage it. When creating the article, publicly available information from official sources of the European Union was analyzed - documents published by the European Commission, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, but also from relevant official policies of the Slovak Republic and peer-reviewed scientific works.

Abstrakt: In the 21st century, previously unseen processes could be identified in the security environment, one element of which was extremely unexpected and rapidly changes in the security situation. In the rapidly changing security environment, it has become increasingly important to define the future, that is, to predict future challenges, risks and threats, which is necessary for a country to be able to respond to emerging threats. In security studies, there are various methods (e.g. matrix analysis) available to define the current security environment, which are only limited in their ability to present the future. Therefore, the author examined future research (futurology), how can it be used to determine the future in the field of security? In his brief analysis of futurology, he examined the differences between forecasting and visioning the future. During the analysis of futures research analysis methods, he emphasized the procedures that are suitable for predicting changes in the security environment, as well as for determining the future security situation.
