Abstrakt: The aim of this paper is to compare life cycle cost models of military equipment in the Czech Republic and Estonia. Military equipment requires a comprehensive approach to financing that includes not only the acquisition cost but also long-term maintenance, upgrading and decommissioning costs. Estonia is still struggling with the implementation of a standardized life cycle cost approach, while the Czech Republic has established procedures for long-term planning of military investments. This paper analyses the differences between the two approaches and assesses their impact on the sustainability and operational capability of military equipment. The results of the paper provide recommendations for improving the life cycle cost management of military technology in both countries.
Kľúčové slová: Armed forces of the Czech republic, Armed forces of the Estonia, disposal, life cycle cost (LCC), military equipment, models of life cycle costs, total cost assessment, purchase, operation.
