Abstrakt: The aim of this article is to contribute to the discussion about the perspective of using virtual reality in the educational process of military professionals. The article is divided into three parts. In the first part, it describes the development of virtual reality and explains basic concepts such as simulator and a trainer. It also deals with the basic theoretical model, the starting point for the creation of the model, supplemented by a block diagram of the model and its description. The third part of the article presents the results of a research investigation into the perspective of using virtual reality in the educational process of military professionals in the Army of the Czech Republic with the use of the Delphi method and a subsequent discussion of the experts' view of the issue that can be used in the future operational environment.
