Abstrakt: The COVID-19 pandemic and at the same time, the largest number of violent conflicts since 1946 are causing record-high numbers of people to be forcibly displaced from their homes. That includes the Israeli-Hamas conflict and war on Ukraine, which is not only causing immense human suffering but is also playing a role in precipitating a global food, energy, and financial crisis. As a result, the world now faces its worst cost-of-living crisis in a generation. This paper sets out the human security today from the perspective of japanese foreign policy.

Kľúčové slová: Japan, human security, military expenditure.
