Abstrakt: The terms "fighting power" and "combat power" are directly related to the ability to employ military force. They express the capabilities and possibilities of action capacity of the military force, the scope of which is defined by the mission of the military units. The similarity of the definitions of both terms in the military doctrinal framework creates a condition for confusing the understanding of their different meanings, which causes inefficient use of the offered possibilities of fighting power and combat power and the ability to create their joint synergy to achieve the success. The correct understanding of their differences, but also of their interdependence, could be a key aspect of achieving success in military operations.
