Abstrakt: We can classify the current global security environment as dynamic and unpredictable, to the return of the ties of the bipolar global power-political system. In the article, the author points (reacts) to the emerging security situation in the Euro-Atlantic area, with the aim of pointing out force protection as an adequate function of ensuring the fulfillment of the task in operations. Adequate security of the armed forces will require a process of planning and execution. The author focuses on a wide spectrum of force protection in the process of planning and execution of operations in military art, in individual levels of operations and in operational art (in operational design) as the main essence in the examined issue. In the last chapter, we point to the force protection as a basic joint function with the use of qualitative and comparative analysis of the acquired knowledge in the doctrinal environment in the examined issue.
