Abstrakt: Nowadays, the topic of national defence is relevant not only for professionalsNowadays, the topic of national defence is relevant not only for professionalsbut also for the wider public. In connection with the war conflict in Ukraine,the public perception of security has changed in Slovakia as well, and it isnecessary to pay attention to the state of public opinion in this area. In thisarticle, we will present basic information about the conscription itself and theimportance of voluntariness in the defence of the state, as highlighted by thenew Concept of Preparation of the Population for the Defence of the State,and in the light of the results of the latest public opinion polls of the Ministryof Defence, we will focus in particular on the awareness of the populationabout the conscription, the state of their willingness to defend their country,and the subsequent interpretation of the most significant results.

It deals with the strengths and weaknesses of this unit.The main part deals with deploying the task force SLOVCON in the eFP Latvia.The main goal is to point out the identified shortcomings representinglimiting factors that affect the capabilities of the Slovak contingent inperforming operational tasks.

Abstrakt: Tensions between the West and Russia, closely linked to the Ukrainian crisis,Tensions between the West and Russia, closely linked to the Ukrainian crisis,have further fuelled discussions on mutual cooperation between theEuropean Union and the North Atlantic Alliance in the area of defence. TheEuropean Union is the political and economic power base for the security anddefence of the European continent, as it is primarily its Member States thatset the overall strategy for European foreign and defence policy. On the otherhand, the member states of the Union, whether they are or not also membersof the Alliance, lag behind their alliance partners, especially the UnitedStates, in military capabilities and capacities. Therefore, through someEuropean Union initiatives, they are now seeking to build more militarycapabilities and capacities, thus strengthening not only the level of Europeandefence and security, but also the possibility of the Union's strategicautonomy. Therefore, the author uses relevant methods of scientific researchin this article to discuss the possibilities of European strategic autonomy andthe future of the European Union in the Alliance.

Abstrakt: As unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) have come to the forefront of interest ofAs unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) have come to the forefront of interest ofvarious powerful groups. This paper addresses a highly debated issueconcerning the deployment of the rapidly developing UAVs (drones) incombat zones throughout Southwest Asia. First, the drones operated byLebanese Hezbollah, Yemeni Houthis, the Palestinian faction Hamas and theIslamic Jihad are introduced, while the following key section provides anassessment of the air defense capabilities of Israel and Saudi Arabia tocounter these threats. The Israeli defense forces have been incorporating newsystems and modernizing the existing ones, making it virtually impossible forIsrael’s adversaries to freely operate any unmanned aircraft within itsairspace. By contrast, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to struggle tosecure its airspace.
