Abstrakt: During problem solving, the terms decision-making and decision are often invoked. Both terms are an integral part of military theory as well as practice. There is, however, a significant difference between them. If decision-making expresses a process, then a decision is the result of that process. It follows that if an optimal decision is to be made, then it is desirable to make effective use of decisionmaking procedures and methods. Military decision making process is generally carried out on the basis of established methodologies using empirical methods of decision making. In this way, a prevailing subjectivity and templateness is introduced into the process. Based on the aforementioned insights, this article aims to highlight the significant need for investigating selected sub-processes to improve the effectiveness of the decision-making process.
